Mabel Blackburn Fox

FOX, Mabel Blackburn, age 100 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a 50 Year Member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, she graduated from Maryville College in 1929, was a fourth grade school teacher at Ft. Craig and John Sevier Elementary Schools and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Lee Fox; granddaughter, Tina Fox; brothers, Tom, Hugh, Wert, Ernest, Ben, Roy, Brownie, and John K. Blackburn; sister, Anna McSpadden. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Roy and Ruth Fox of Maryville; daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Harry McCandless of Kernersville, NC; grandchildren, Lon Fox of Alcoa, Greta Schwall of Knoxville, Stephanie Herbert of Apex, NC and Shannon Lowe of Charlotte, NC; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Grace Hargis of Maryville; sister-in-law, Johnnie Blackburn of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at their convenience on Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Shady Grove Cemetery in Dandridge for a graveside service with Rev. Russ Morgan and Rev. Paul McNiel officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Dr. Emily Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church following the service.
