Lyle S. Cary

3-17-2002 Cary, Lyle Sherman age 92 of Maryville died Friday March 15th 2002 at St. Marys. He was a member and elder of New Providence Presbyterian Church, was a graduate of Berea College and member of the Maryville Kiwanis Club. He was an avid golfer, and he retired with over 40 years of service with the U.S. Rubber Co. He served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was preceded in death by parents A.H. and Senia Belle Kesterson Cary and wife Dorothy Ferer Cary. Survivors include sons, Dr. Richard A. Cary and wife Dr. Barbara P. Cary of Asheville N.C., and The Rev. Dr. Charles M. Cary and wife Millie W. Cary of Chicago; daughter Jennifer Anne Davis and husband Mark H. Davis of Oxford Miss; grandchildren Abraham R. Cary and fiancé Lucy Craig of New York City, Leah M. Cary of New York City, Benjamin R. Cary of Ithaca N.Y., Charles S. Davis of Oxford Miss., and Cary Joseph Davis of Oxford Miss; sister E. Ruth Cary of Oak Ridge; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held Monday 3:00 P.M. at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Emily Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. The interment will be in New Providence Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Berea College, Berea, KY in the name of Lyle S. Cary & Dorothy Ferer Cary.
