Luther Clark Myers

Myers, Luther Clark age 74 of Maryville, departed this life Saturday, July 13, 2002, at his family home. He joined Law’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church August of 1938, and was always a faithful and dedicated member. Luke served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the Aluminum Company of America with 29 years of service and was a member of the Alcoa 25 year club. He served his church faithfully and touched the lives of everyone with whom he came in contact. In 1959, he was ordained as a deacon at Law’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. HE served as assistant clerk from 1962 until 1967 when he was elected clerk and treasurer of the church. He also served as assistant clerk of the Original Tennessee Association of Primitive Baptist from 1967 until 1973 when he was elected clerk and fulfilled this duty until 1994. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rebecca Myers; sisters Lena Shields, Edith Byrd and Hazel Payne. Survivors include: wife of 54 years, Betty Morton Myers. Daughters and spouses: Gloria and Wilford Inman of Walland and BJ. And Danny McKee of Maryville. Brother, John C. (Tom) Myers. Sister, Sue Phillips both of Maryville. Four grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Lisa Myers, Missy and Mark Hearon, Becky and Kelly Morgan, and Amy McKee. Four great-grandchildren, Kayla Hearon, Brittany Myers, Austin and Riley Hill. Funeral Services will be 8:00 PM Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Elders Ronald Crisp and Onley Williams officiating. Family will receive friends 6:30 to 8:00 PM Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. The Interment will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery with Elders Danny McKee and Wilford Inman officiating at the graveside. At the break of dawn Saturday, July 13, 2002, a precious, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all, heard the call of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
