Lorene Bean Smith

Lorene Bean Smith, age 87 of Maryville, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018, at the family home. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Maryville, a founding member of the Blount County Genealogical and Historical Society, and belonged to the Smoky Mountain Hiking Club. She was also the Blount County historian and co-authored the book Blount County Remembered. She loved to travel and spend time in the mountains. Preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Neva Bean; son, Dr. Kent J. Smith. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Arthur Jeff Smith; son, David Smith; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Smith; granddaughter, Hannah Cagle and her husband Brandon; special nephew and niece, Steve and Pat Whitehead. The family will receive friends 12:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with funeral services to follow with Dr. Bill Booth and Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
