With a heavy heart we announce that our husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother and friend, Lonnie (L.D.) Tidwell has went home to meet our Heavenly Father. He owned and operated Smoky View Transmissions for many years. Lonnie was saved at an early age and was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Lonnie was most proud of his long happy marriage and great family that he leaves behind. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eva Tidwell; brother, Bobby Tidwell; sister, Thelma Tidwell; father-in-law, Rev. Franklin Bullard; sister-in-law, Ethel Newman.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Loretta; daughter, Robin (Michael) Jones of Chattanooga; son, Michael (Annette) Tidwell of Maryville; granddaughter, Nicole (Michael) Thomas; grandson, Hunter (Amber) Tidwell; great-grandchildren, twins Hudson and Maverick, Elijah Thomas, Harlow Tidwell; 99-year-old mother-in-law, Monie Bullard; sisters, Reva Rush, Lillie Rhodes, Geneva Goodman (James); brother, Glen (Judy) Tidwell; sister-in-law, Martha Tidwell; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may pay their respects from 9:00 AM- 3:00 PM, Monday, January 31st at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:30, Tuesday, February 1st at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Terry Nelson and Rev. Don Thompson officiating.
