Linda Joanne Holland

Linda Joanne Holland, age 65, of 241 Hickory Lane, Boone, died Saturday morning, July 2, 2011, at her home. Joanne was born August 27, 1945 in Maryville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Joe J. and Jonnie Grace Kagley Lewis. She graduated from Everett High School, attended Tennessee Technological University and the University of Tennessee. She retired from Watauga County Department of Social Services, September 30, 2010 after 24 years of service. She was an avid reader and passed that along to her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Holland is survived by her husband, Ralph Earl Holland, of the home; one daughter, Erin Brumm and husband, Matthew, of Ann Arbor, Michigan; two sons, Jonathan Holland and wife Kelly, of Crossville, Tennnessee, and Timothy Holland and wife, Carrie of Boone; three grandchildren, Brianna Holland of Crossville, Tennessee, Elias and Abigail Holland of Boone, and Daniel Brumm of Ann Arbor, Michigan; one brother, Don W. Lewis of Maryville, Tennessee, and one sister, Kathy Lewis of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by several cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, John W. and Lillie Wilson Kagley and John W. and Nancy Dennis Lewis. Funeral services for Linda Joanne Holland will be conducted Tuesday July 5, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 11:00 until 12:00 o'clock. Officiating will be Reverend Bud Russell. Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday afternoon, at 2:00 o'clock, at Centenary Cemetery in Maryville, Tennessee. The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, from 11:00 until 12:00 o'clock, at the church, prior to the service.
