Linda Sue Huffstetler Alcorn, age 82, of Maryville, Tennessee formerly of Leesburg, Florida passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was longtime member of Carpenters Campground Methodist Church.
Linda was born December 5, 1941, in Blount County, Tennessee. She graduated from Lanier High School in 1959. Linda attended Joseph’s School of Hair Design in Knoxville and was a cosmetologist in Maryville and Kingsport. In 1988 she began a career with the United Telephone Company in Leesburg, Florida and retired in 2015. She was tirelessly devoted to her careers and adored each of her colleagues. She returned home to Maryville in 2017.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Jessie Huffstetler, her father, Lon Huffstetler and three siblings: Derrill Huffstetler (Mary), Gary “Mike” Huffstetler (Genia), Peggy Walker and brother-in-law Harold Walker.
Linda had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her yard. She loved to place wind chimes around her home. On frequent Saturday mornings she was found at yard sales, thrift stores and doughnut shops. She treasured spending time with her beloved granddog, Charlie.
Survivors include her two children, Cindy Alcorn of Maryville, Jamey Alcorn (Mary) of Rome, Georgia, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A private graveside service will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Linda’s honor to Carpenters Campground Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 1035 Bert Garner Lane, Maryville, Tennessee 37803.
The family wishes to thank family and friends who have extended prayers, care, and concern in recent days.
