Lina Belle Denton

Denton, Lina Bell (Thomas) age 84 passed away on August 27th 2010 at her home in Maryville where she lived most of her life. She was the last child born to the late Anna Maude (Russell) and John Ed Thomas. She worked at the Buddy Dale Hat Shop and the Knox Department Store. A favorite activity was to go shopping with her sister Jessie Norris. She was married to the late Harold Q. Denton in 1946. They later divorced, but remained friends and shared in raising their son. She was also preceded in death by brothers and sister in laws, Ray and Jane Thomas, Glen and Katherine Thomas Charles and Katherine Thomas and brother Lon Thomas, sisters and brothers in laws, Lucille (Sis) and Lloyd Tucker and Jessie and Earl Norris. She is survived by her son Harold (Butch) and his wife Lynn Denton of Cedar Rapids Iowa, step grand daughter Randi and her husband David Mutnick of Chicago, step grandson, Christopher Opp of Cedar Rapids Iowa, and step great grandchildren Josie and Eli Mutnick.. Sister in law, Marie Thomas of Maryville as well as the following nieces and nephews and their spouses: Billy Ray and Nancy Thomas of Maryville, Kenneth and Thelma Thomas of Maryville, Gene and Jean Thomas of Maryville, Freida and Steve Corbett of Maryville, Patsy and Grant Owen of Texas, Jennie Pierce of Detroit Michigan, Marty and Betty Thomas of Maryville, Sue Amburn of Maryville, Tommy and Judy Tucker of Maryville, Glenda and Steve Hickman of Maryville. The family wishes to give special thanks to niece Freida Corbett and nephew Bobby Tucker; special friend Evelyn Cable and caregiver Carol Tucker, who enriched her final years with their on-going love and care. Special thanks also to Personal Care Choices and Hospice for their special care. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Monday August 30th at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. The interment will follow at Clarks Grove Cemetery.
