Laura Stansbury

Laura France Stansbury - age 88 of Maryville passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was known to all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Oma. She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church Trigonia. She loved camping, horse back riding, square dancing, and the Greenback 4th of July Parade. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olen E. Stansbury; parents, Oscar and Mary Long France. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Gary Phillips, of Maryville; daughter, Beverly Flynn, of Winston Salem, NC; grandchildren, David McCraw, Mark McCraw and wife Sandra, Eric Phillips and wife Shelia, Dwayne Massie, and Charlie Massie and wife Beth; 14 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Osa Lee and James Hall, of Greenville, TN, sister, Minnie Howard, of Maryville; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Monday at Oakland United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Yeaney officiating. The interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 3 P.M. at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Oakland United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
