Laura Elizabeth Hurst

Laura Elizabeth Overton Hurst, of Maryville, Tennessee, was reunited with the love of her life on November 9, 2011. Laura was a loving wife and mother. Appreciated by her friends and family for her keen wit, spontaneous laughter, good cooking, warm hospitality and love for the Lord, Laura will be sorely missed. Born to William Johnson and Sarah Jane Overton in Paris, TX February 28, 1923. She was preceded in death by husband, John Glen Hurst. She was the youngest of seven brothers and sisters, Leon Overton, Bill Overton, Henrietta Cooper, Margaritte Stone and Catherine Hill. She is survived by sister, Inez Hurst; son, Randy Hurst and wife Lynne; grand daughter, Anna Marie Griffin and husband Mike; step grandchildren, Summer and Dr. Chip Webb and Kara and Phillp Wilbourn and six great grandchildren. The family would like to thank nephews & nieces, Donna Sue Reeves, Tina and Jerry Overton and Sharron and Melvin Garrison and friends Carl and Rita Freberg for their exceptional support. Laura was a member of First Baptist Church, Maryville. Family and friends will meet 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 12, 2011, at Magnolia Cemetery for a graveside service with the Rev.
