Larry Norris, 70, of Maryville passed away December 10, 2022. He was a 32-year employee with Denso in the IT Department. He was considered a friend to many. He appreciated his team co-workers, Jan, Robbie, and John. Our family appreciates the observing of the flag at half-staff for Larry’s remembrance. Larry was a quiet unassuming man that always treated people with kind respect. He had a bit of shyness, but that was always a part of his charm. He lived in Blount County from the beginning of his life, he lived in Knoxville for 13 years before moving his family back to Maryville. He said he was a true home-grown soul. Married to Melanie for 43 years, they shared common interest of hiking, bicycling, their faith, Miata Club of East Tennessee, camping, and rummaging through antique shops together. “Dad” to daughter Amy (Chad) Richards, of Mt. Juliet, TN. He was a loving dad from the beginning of her life, always proud of her accomplishments. Amy was the light of his life and the joy of his heart. Best friends since childhood, Alan Jones was like a brother to him. Larry loved Alan and wife, Susan. Kenny Byrd also held a special place in Larry’s heart for many years. Larry, Alan, and Kenny had many memories of years past riding motorcycles together. It was Larry’s wishes not to have a service. We thank all those who loved him in his lifetime and made him feel special. He was a gem and all who knew him were blessed. Preceded in death by his mother, Helen Fern; father, Edward; and brother, Ralph. Thank you to all the friends and family that are showing support during this time.
