Larry Ellis Hood, age 72, died Tuesday morning at Asbury Place at Maryville. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church for the past 45 years. He was owner/operator of Lamar Copy and Printing, Inc. in Alcoa. He was a graduate of Porter High School and was also educated at various technical schools. He served in the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970. Predeceased by father, William Ellis Hood; mother, Iva Tilda Hood; brother, Delmar M. Hood; sisters-in-law, Shirley and Billie Sue Hood; and nephew, Dana Large. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Phyllis K. Hood; daughter and her husband, Whitney K. Eanes and Jim Eanes; grandson and his wife, Sebastian N. Nord and Jessica L. Nord; grandson, Zachary H. Nord; great-granddaughters, Saylor L. Nord and Iris F. Nord; brother, Arlen E. Hood; sister, Regena F. Large and husband Donald Large; sister-in-law, Brenda Sise and husband Jack Sise of Seymour. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, of Maryville, with a service to follow at 7 p.m. with Dr. Greg Heisler officiating. Family and friends will meet at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Seymour on Friday, December 14, at 11 a.m. for the interment service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the missions fund at Madison Avenue Baptist Church.
