Kyle "Dink" Marvin Lawson of Alcoa, Tennessee, age 72 passed away Tuesday September 22, 2015 at his home. He was born June 30, 1943, attended Alcoa City Schools. He graduated Alcoa High School in the class of 1962. He attended State Tech and the University of Tennessee. He retired after 44 years as a senior cartographer for the State of Tennessee. He was a major contributor in the design and implementation of mapping Blount and surrounding counties for the original E-911 system.. He was actively involved in the Young Marines youth organization where he was an adult volunteer, chaplin coordinator, and attendance coordinator. He was a member of Armona Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents Vasco and Bessie Lawson of Alcoa. He is survived by his sons, Eric Lawson and wife Jessica of Oliver Springs, Patrick Lawson of Alcoa. Longtime sweetheart and best friend Glenda Hawkins of Alcoa. Sisters Sherrel Buero and husband Mike of Charleston, SC, Faye Bush and husband Craig of Ooltewah. Grandchildren Kaylee and Braden Lawson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Special appreciation to caregiver Tanya Carpenter. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 pm. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark McGill and Rev. Jimmy Malone officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers - contributions may be made to the Young Marine Org., 8109 Rogers Lane, Knoxville, TN 37920, or your favorite charity.
