Kay Dodd was born on January 12th, 1945, in Knoxville, Tennessee and passed away Wednesday May 8th in Maryville. Kay was a fond member of The Big Gully community and appreciated the closeness afforded by her family of neighbors. After graduating from Lanier High School in 1961, she worked as a seamstress at Levi's. Kay eventually retired from Alcoa Aluminum as an electrician after working as a millwright for many years. Kay was well known for her quick wit and uncanny ability to beat you at Rooke. She was an avid Tennessee Vols fan and loved being with her family.
Kay leaves behind her son, Jeff (Ingrid) Dodd, granddaughters McKenzie (Jaden) Harris and Gemma Dodd, great-granddaughter Ivy Harris, sister, Phyllis Hill, Uncle, Ira "Buddy" (Nancy) Abbot and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Dodd, mother, Gladys Houser Wilson, Father Jackson Clinton Wilson, and brother Jerry (Jan) Wilson.
A graveside service will be held at Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Monday, May 13th at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Tyson McKeehan officiating.
If preferred donations to the Union Grove Missionary Church Cemetery, Fund can be made in lieu of flowers.
