Katherine Marie Leonard Mcmahan

Katherine Marie Leonard McMahan, 92, of Maryville passed to her heavenly home on Christmas day, 2016. She was born on May 16, 1924 in North Carolina. Katherine moved with her family to Alcoa at the age of 12, graduating from Alcoa High School. She married Clarence McMahan on January 13, 1944. Katherine was preceded in death by parents, Clarence (C.A.) And Dora Leonard; brother, Bill Perry of Florida; son, Steve of Oak Ridge; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Ottinger, Pat and Jack Ottinger, Sam and Jean McMahan, Ivan Blankenship, Geoffry and Rue McMahan; mother-in-law, Maude Cogdill. Survivors include her husband of nearly 73 years, Clarence; son, Mike (Kay); daughter-in-law, Rita of Clinton, TN; sister, Betty (Claude) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; granddaughter, Kara (Jim) Potts of St. Augustine, FL; grandson, David (Michelle) of Maryville; great grandchildren, Lilly and Katie Potts, Tucker and Ansley McMahan; brother-in-law, Trent Ottinger of Parrottsville, TN; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. McMahan was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church for 60 years. She was dedicated to sending birthday and Christmas cards recognizing and remembering people. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and flowers. The family wishes to express their special thanks to Morningview Transitional Care. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gilbert Harris officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Sherwood Mausoleum for the entombment service. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
