Katherine Hicks Beightol

BEIGHTOL, Katherine Hicks, age 87, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 2, 2002, at the family home in Alcoa, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Beightol; parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Hicks; sister, Patsy Mason and brother, J. L. “Jack” Hicks. Katherine was an active life long member of Alcoa First United Methodist Church. She served on the Administrative Board and was the church historian. Katherine was retired from the Alcoa City School System, a member of the GFWC Chilhowee Club and a member of the Alcoa FUMC Quilting and sewing group. She is survived by her four sons and their wives, Jim and Mary Grace Beightol of Maryville, TN, Kevin and Theresa Beightol, Roanoke, AL, Alfred and Ejie Beightol of Oneida, TN and Robert and Judy Beightol of Roanoke, VA; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Green and Rev. Ken Green officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
