FENNELLY, Justin Reid “Chavez”, age 18 passed away Thursday, November 28, 2002, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Knoxville, was a 2002 graduate of William Blount High School where he was a member of the football team, and was a past member of the East Tennessee Indian League. He received national recognition for a poem he co-authored with Fran Gamble entitled, “Me and You”. Survivors include: mother, Carol J. Allen; father, Phillip R. Fennelly; sister, Tristen A. Fennelly; grandparents, Mary R. Allen, Germaine Fennelly and Pete and Cathy Fennelly; aunts and uncles, James W. Allen, Ray and Toni Holland; cousins, Kris and Keri Sweimler, Lena Sue Jerkins and Annabella Hewing. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. Funeral services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Knoxville with Dean John Ross officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Justin’s name to the Forensic Science Scholarship Fund, payable to William Blount High School, attention: Kim Wilde, 219 County Farm Road, Maryville, TN 37801.
