Elizabeth "Lib" Wilkinson Binkley Mize

Elizabeth “Lib” Wilkinson Binkley Mize, 88, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024 at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, TN surrounded by her loving husband, Bobby Mize, and family. 

 

Elizabeth was born August 9, 1935 in Catawba County, NC to the late Rev. Guy Lattimore Wilkinson and Annie Hemphill Wilkinson. She was a long-time member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Maryville, TN and lived her faith daily. Elizabeth enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, and spending time with family and friends. Her homemade bread and rolls were favorites of all. 

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Scronce, Virginia Scronce, Eupha McGalliard, and Ruth Ann Livengood; and brothers Guy Wilkinson, PaulWilkinson, and Mouzon Wilkinson. 

 

She is survived by her husband, Bob Mize and her sons Kevin, Craig, and Tim (Kathy) Binkley; and sons Brad (Tami), Bart (Penny), Bret, and Blake Mize. 

 

Elizabeth also leaves behind many, many grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends that she loved dearly. 

 

A memorial service to celebrate Elizabeth’s life will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Beth Eden Lutheran Church in Newton, NC. Pastor Marcus Ollis will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at Beth Eden Lutheran Church.
