Jud Sanford Kirby, age 87 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009, at his home. He was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Army, a former member of the Blount County Commissioners, member of New Providence Masonic Lodge #128 , Knoxville Scottish Rite Bodies, Shriners, Kerbella Temple, and a former member of the TN National Guard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Margaret Garner Kirby; several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Kirby; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Wayne, Sr. and Diane Kirby of Clemmons, NC; daughters and sons-in-law, Keryl and Wayne Sink, Mary and Mike Caylor all of Maryville; grandchildren, Laura Kirby, Larry Wayne Kirby, II, Elizabeth Cable, Jud Michael Caylor; great grandchildren, Cailey Speer, Hannah Speer, Emma Grace Speer, Elijah Speer, Jeremiah Speer, Sophia Ruth Speer, Brandon Caudill, Hailey Caudill, Luke Caudill, Addison Kirby; sisters-in-law, Arletta Kirby of Chicago, IL, Mary Kirby of Seymour; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Everett Hills Baptist Church with Dr. John Franklin and Rev. R. M. Everett officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Church. For those who wish, memorials of your choice may be made.
