Juanita Hyde Simek

Juanita Hyde Simek, age 86 of Maryville passed away peacefully on April 4, 2024, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born in Gainesville, Ga. Juanita graduated from business school in Atlanta, GA. She worked in several business offices including Fort Monroe and Langley AFB in Virginia before retiring from the Housing and Urban development office in Knoxville, TN. She loved painting, crafting, traveling all over the US and taking pictures. She also loved seeing her grandkids. She loved to sing old hymns, liked to dance, and cut a rug from time to time. She always put others first and loved to make you laugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Levonia Hyde of Gainesville, GA, and late husband, Richard Simek of Greenback TN.

She is survived by her sons, David (Debra) West, Rick Simek, Tim Simek, Jon Jeffries; daughter, Jenni (Kevin) Olivet; grandchildren, Jeremy West, Jeffery West, Michael (Soraya) Simek, Lauren Myers, Hunter Olivet, Grayson Myers, Adelyn Olivet, Sam Jeffries, and Jett Olivet; sisters, Irine (Roger) Keebaugh, Patricia Hyde; brother, John Hyde; nephew, Corey (Ashley) Hyde; great nieces, Taylor and Addi Hyde; great nephew, Caleb Hyde; several cousins and special friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, April 21st, at Whitehall Baptist Church Cemetery in Lula,GA, where she will be laid to rest with her parents.
