J. R. Baldwin, of Maryville, passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at his home. He was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class at Madison Avenue Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Navy where he served as a 2nd Class Petty Officer during the Vietnam War. He was in Aviation Electronics maintenance and worked on remote controlled helicopters. He served on the USS Bausell and USS OBannon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Velda Rose Baldwin and brothers, Gerald and Kenny Baldwin. Survivors include his wife, Irene Baldwin; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Samantha Baldwin and Greg and Amanda Baldwin; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Wayne Headrick; grandchildren, Jake and Alex Baldwin, Ava Headrick and Jackson Baldwin; step grandson, Christopher Headrick; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Donna Baldwin; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the service to follow at 7:00 P.M. with Minister Mike Arp and Paul Benson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:30 A.M. Thursday at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Governor John Sevier Hwy., for the interment service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cancer Treatments Center of America, Atlanta, 600 Celebrate Life Parkway, Newnan, GA 30265.
