Joseph L. Sexton

Joseph L. Sexton, age 89, passed away March 31, 2013, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Margaret McCall Sexton. Joe was a World War II veteran having served in the U. S. Navy from 1943 to 1946. He was recalled to active duty in 1951 and served 12 months of Sea Duty. Joe was employed by the National Security Agency in the Washington D.C. area for 31 years. He is survived by two sisters, Francis Sauls and Vergie Lea Lones both of Maryville and by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by son, Joey Sexton, parents, Myrtle and L. S. Sexton, sisters, Betty Green and Jean Dykes and by his brother, James S. Sexton. The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery will follow the service.
