Joseph C. Houston

Joseph C. Houston, age 97 of Townsend, passed away Friday, January 2, 2009, at his home. He was the son of the late Rev. Robert L. and Henrietta Muecke Houston, was a member of Lake Hills Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Davidson College and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U. S. Navy. Mr. Houston retired from the Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies and the Social Security Administration. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Davis Rust Houston; brother, Robert Lockhart Houston; step-son, James U. Rust. Survivors include his stepdaughter, Linda Hale and husband William Hale of Jacksonville, FL; step daughter-in-law, Arleene Rust of Chattanooga, TN; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; niece, Ann Houston Fisher of McMinnville, TN; 2 great nephews.
