John Wesley Gold

John Wesley Gold, 62, of Beckley, WV, lost his battle with the flesh but won the war and now is at rest in Jesus. On Saturday, October 3, at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, John gave up the fight. He was a Navy Veteran and retired from Law Enforcement work at Beckley Federal Prison. He was a member of the McDonald Warren Lodge #103 in Mount Hope, WV and a Knight Templar of Royal Arch York Degree. Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Vivian Gold, and brother, Frank Gold, Jr. He leaves behind to mourn his passing: sons, John Franklin Gold (Sarah) of Portsmouth, OH and Wesley Allen Gold (Jessica) of South Portsmouth, KY; sisters, Vivian McCormack of Lenoir City, Mardell Walker of Maryville, Wanda Gold of Seymour, and Leota Crowe (Charles) of Cleveland, TN; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews; Kathy Gold, the mother of his sons; and his cats he loved so much. Special thanks to all the doctors, nurses and the care givers that worked with him through the hospice and VA facilities. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. George Seay officiating. Burial with Military Honors and Masonic Services to be held at Sherwood Memorial Gardens immediately after the funeral.
