John W. Anthony

John W. Anthony - age 88 of Maryville passed away Saturday, October 6, 2001 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Mr. Anthony was a descendant of Cased Cove settlers, he was a graduate of Berea Academy, a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church, and formerly worked for Park National Bank in Knoxville. He retired after 30 years with Blount National Bank. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Elizabeth Davis Anthony; sisters, Mae Headrick, Helen Walker, Pauline Payne, Elsie Pryor; granddaughter, Suzanne Leatherwood. Survivors include his wife, Grace Wallace Anthony; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Richard Leatherwood, of Baltimore, MD, Sue and Joe Dawson, of Maryville, Janie and Ernie Wickham, of Clarksville, TN; grandchildren, Katherine Leatherwood, Richmond, VA., David and Caroline Dawson, of Maryville, Johnny and Tanner Wickham, of Clarksville, TN; sister, Edna DeLozier, of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; brother, James Anthony, of Jackson, SC. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at Maryville First United Methodist Church with Rev. Darris Doyal officiating. The interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 3 P.M. at the church.
