John Henderson McClanahan, Sr., age 92, passed away Monday, September 13, 2010, at his home. He faithfully attended Keeble’s Chapel Baptist Church, but was a longtime member of Cold Springs Baptist Church. Henry served in the U. S. Navy during World War II. He was a lifelong beef farmer and co-owned Mack’s Used Cars and Parts for 40 years. He was an avid gardener, fisherman, hunter and loved to share his bounty with family and friends. Henry was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Elnora Long McClanahan; parents, Sam and Nola McClanahan; sisters, Troy McNeilly and Ellen Tittsworth; brothers, S. M. McClanahan, Fred, Herman, and Roy Davis. Henry is survived by his children, Johnny (Cheryl) McClanahan, Jeff (Judy Faye) McClanahan, Jane (Ron) Martin, Judy Kay (Randy) Hicks; grandchildren, John III, Brian, Dusty McClanahan, Kristi Teffeteller, Laura (Chris) Reagan, Kelly (Edmond) Greene, Scott Ballard, Katie (Rob) Knudson, Robbie (Michelle) Gamble, Susann (Tim) Starrett; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great, great grandchildren; brother, Ivan McClanahan; sister-in-law, Ann McClanahan; aunts, Jenny and Lucille McClanahan; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Gann, Rev. Glenn Grubb, and Rev. Tim Martin officiating. The interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Cold Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. The family would like to give a special thanks to all of Henry’s care givers and to Blount Memorial Hospice.
