John Craige Adler, M.D.

John Craige Adler, M.D., age 101, of Rockford, TN passed away peacefully on March 30, 2022, at Tennessee State Veterans Home in Knoxville. He was born in Ft. Worth, TX and raised in Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia and New York City. As a child, Dr. Adler attended Fieldston School, part of the Society for Ethical Culture founded by his grandfather, Felix Adler. A WWII Veteran, he served in the 10th Mountain Divisions. Dr. Adler received his B.S. at Swarthmore College and his medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, Dr. Adler moved to Tennessee to practice medicine, and to be near the mountains. He was an avid hiker and lover of the outdoors and Appalachian culture and lifestyle. He is survived by his niece, Lisa Adler, great-niece, Grace Adler, and his many devoted friends. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
