Jimmy L. Hannah Sr. age 78 of Lenoir City, TN passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. Jim saw thing in nature that most people overlook. He believed there was a direct connection between the earth, the wilderness and people. Growing up in Maryville he started his love of nature working on the farm with his brother and sister; even then showing a love of the land and animals. His love of nature carried him through the many years from the beach to the love of the Great Smokey Mountains. Jim spent many hours watching and feeding birds, walking the river banks at the Little T, to spending hours playing with his grandchildren in the yard and showing them his love for nature. Jim was full of life, always smiling, and never met a stranger; from the broken down vehicles on Hwy 321 in front of his house to the ball field Jim was always willing and able to lend a friend a hand. When there was a get-together, we could always count on his humor and wit to light things up. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Julie Hannah; children and spouses: Lee Hannah and wife Kelly, grandchildren David and Marc Hannah; step son Scott Hubbard and wife April, grandchildren Virginia, Mandy, Melody, Noah, and Katie Hubbard; and step son Kenny Hubbard; beloved sister Judy Young; sister-in-law Jackie Hannah, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends from Lanier Class of 1956. Proceeded in death by his father and mother, Robert Lee and Bobby Hannah, brother Ronny Hannah, wife Nell Hannah, and brother-in-law DA Young.
