Jeradline “Jerri” E. (Williams) Welch, Townsend, TN, departed to her Heavenly home surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on October 18, 1943, in Beatrice, Nebraska, Jerri was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Williams, Marie and Jack Stevens, of Beatrice, NE. She was a dedicated and loving wife to her late husband Donald R. Welch, Sr. of Middlesboro, KY, and a devoted mother to her children Donnie, Sheila, Sara and Jack.
In addition to her husband and parents, Jerri was preceded in death by her sister, Jo Ann McClure, Pasco, WA, Son-In-Love, Donnie Burnett, Maryville, TN, her Parents-In-Love, Cortus & Callie Mae Welch, Harrogate, TN and additional extended family members whom she loved and missed.
Mamaw, as her grandchildren called her, was a woman of many passions. She loved cooking for her family, reading books, playing games on her iPad, Face Timing with her grandchildren and binge-watching crime shows. She taught her grandchildren that ice cream was a food group all its own, and hot tea would cure anything. Jerri was such a kind and generous soul, always putting others’ needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her warm, infectious smile and bright, positive personality.
Jerri is survived by her family who will miss her dearly:
Children: Donald R. Welch, Jr, Beatrice, NE, Sheila (Cleve) Messer, Townsend, TN, Sara Burnett, Maryville, TN, Jack (Della) Welch, Richmond, KY
Grandchildren: Ashley (Nathan) Cooper, Knoxville, TN, Kelsey (Dillon) Satterfield, Townsend, TN, Zayven Welch, Ayden Welch, Malakai Welch, Richmond, KY, Rhys Burnett, Maryville, TN, Isabella Burnett, Fayetteville, NC, Autumn Burnett, Kingsport, TN
Great-grandchildren: Sydney Cooper, Levi Cooper, Wyatt Cooper, Knoxville, TN and Kai Bandon, Fayetteville, NC
Sister: Erma Fox, Pueblo, CO
And a host of very special extended family members that Jerri loved so dearly.
A private family interment will be held at Cave Springs Cemetery, Tazewell, TN, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Jerri E. Welch to your local food pantry or homeless/women/family shelter.
The family would like to take this time to thank the nursing and aide staff at Blount Memorial Hospital and Waters of Maryville for the special care that mom received during her stay.
Rest in peace Mom. You will forever be in our hearts and memories.
