Jennie Mae Sauls Medlin

December 30, 1908 — March 22, 2005

Jennie Mae Sauls Medlin of 751 Millers Cove Road, Walland, Tennessee, passed away at 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, at the home of her daughter Charlene Neubert of Birchwood, Tennessee. Jennie was a member of Millers Cove Missionary Baptist Church in Walland. Jennie was born on December 30, 1908, and the family was blessed with her presence for 96 years.Jennie was the middle child and daughter of the late William J. Sauls and Nancy Rogers Sauls. Jennie grew up in the Sevier County area, and her father was a former Sheriff of Sevier County. Jennie was preceded in death by her late husband Alexander Medlin, son Alexander (Buster) Medlin, Jr., baby daughter Nancy Lou Evelyn Medlin, great-grandson Jason Boring, and sister Essie Jordan. She leaves behind five children--her daughters and sons-in-law Maxine and James Mann of Maryville and Charlene and Sidney (Bud) Neubert of Birchwood, Tennessee; sons and daughters-in-law Jack and Mildred Medlin of Maryville, Ernie and Brenda Medlin of Maryville, and Robert (Bob) and Cookie Medlin of Smithville, Kentucky; and daughter-in-law Maybelle Medlin of Maryville. All of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren lovingly called her Mamaw. She leaves behind the following grandchildren: Larry Boring of Centerville, Janice Braun of Maryville, Laverne Copenhaver of Ooltewah, Tennessee, and Brenda Jordan of Waterloo, Indiana; Susan Kalberg of Solon Springs, Wisconsin; Pam Craig, Teresa Medlin, and Michelle Wilson of Knoxville and Michael Medlin of Maryville, Tennessee; Norman Medlin of Louisville, Kentucky, and Robert Medlin and Rosie Ballard of Shelbyville, Kentucky; Allen Neubert of Birchwood and Ben Neubert of Harrison, Tennessee; and Thomas (Tommy) Medlin and Karen Medlin of Maryville, Tennessee. She also has 5 step grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, with a great-grandchild and a great-great grandchild due in May. She also leaves behind her sister Erva Lee Pierce of Maryville. The family will gather at the home of Ernie Medlin on Mint Road in Maryville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in Maryville. The funeral and celebration of her life will follow immediately in their chapel. Interment will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 25, at Ellejoy Baptist Church Cemetery in Sevier County.
