Jay Rogers Daniel

Jay Rogers Daniel, age 73, of Maryville, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Baptist West Hospital. He was retired from Jacksonville Fire Department with 26 years of service and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Preceded in death by his mother, Irene Whittelsie; grandson, Chris Daniel. He is survived by wife, Jolene Daniel; son and daughter-in-law, Jay Jr. and Helen Daniel of Knoxville; son, Shawn Daniel of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepson and wife, Mike and Brenda Farmer of Loudon; stepdaughter and husband, Chrystal and Scott Carroll of Lenior City; granddaughter and husband, Amanda and Matt Houser of Knoxville; grandchildren, Austin Farmer, Kobe Carroll, Molly Carroll, and Justin Farmer; great-grandchildren, Elijah Daniel, Emily Houser, Grace Houser, and Bethany Houser. A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel. The family will receive friends 5:30-7 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville, 982-6812. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the Maryville Fire Department and the Blount County Fire Department.
