Janie Huskey Mckee

Janie Huskey McKee - age 55, passed away peacefully Friday, December 23, 2011 at her home in Alcoa. She was born February 17, 1956 in Maryville to the late, Arthur and Nancy Sue Huskey. Her father was an accomplished auto mechanic, and her mother was a very loving housewife. Janie was also preceded in death by her brother, Micheal Eugene Huskey. Janie spent her childhood playing with her sisters and brother. She was an avid fan of learning and performed exceedingly well in school. She graduated from Everett High in 1974 where she was a drummer in the band. She attended one semester of college but left to pursue motherhood. She worked as head cashier at Save-A-Lot and was well loved by many of the customers she came in contact with. She never met a stranger and could become friends with anyone. She often mentioned that having and raising her three children was her greatest achievement in life. Janie had a very strong faith in Jesus as her lord and savior and volunteered her time working as a Sunday School Teacher for many years at Immanuel Church of the Nazarene in Friendsville she found was very rewarding. Her interest included family, interior decorating, real estate business, sewing and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy to her family. Survivors include her children, Kyndra Breeden, Jonathan Breeden and Courtney Covington; her siblings include, Rebecca Quarles, Robin Williams, Rita Hatfield and Sonny Huskey. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Quentin Caldwell officiating. The interment will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday in Zions Chapel Cemetery.
