Janet Louise Campbell, born March 27, 1926 in Scranton, PA, passed away Thursday, October 4, 2012 in Gloucester, VA. She graduated from Maryville College in 1948, received her Masters Degree in Curriculum at the University of Tennessee and taught for Tennessee Public Schools (most of which were in Maryville City School) for 43 years before retiring in 1991. After retiring, she taught in the Adult Literacy Program at the Everett Hills Community Center. She was an avid traveler having been all over the world, including all continents but Antarctica, previous member of Alpha Delta Kappa Tennessee Epsilon Chapter, Mary Blount Chapter of Eastern Star, and First United Methodist Church of Maryville. She loved the Smokey Mountains and she especially loved books. Janet moved to Virginia in 2008 to be closer to family. Preceded in death by her parents, Oscar K. and Reva S. Campbell, brother and sister-in-law O.K. Campbell, Jr. and Maxine Campbell, nieces, Janet Sue Campbell, Marilyn Bridgan and nephew, David Campbell. Survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Lily Campbell; nieces, Reva Jo Payne, Penny C. Blood, Karen C. Nuzzo, Kim C. Wysong, Dacia C. Williams and Leslie Campbell; and one nephew, John Campbell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brenda Carroll officiating. The interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 a.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
