James “Dick” Wooten was born October 3, 1941 in Glasgow, Kentucky. He passed away May 25, 2024 in Maryville TN. He was the son of Ivan and Inez Wooten. Dick was a land and construction surveyor for most of his life. He was a member of Village Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Rose Mary Wooten; his children, Judy and Gary Herd, Phillip and Idamae Wooten, Deann Wooten . He is also survived by his grandchildren and great grandchildren: Brian, Laura, Lily, Clark, Curtis, Jessica, Ali, James, Shelby and Drew and his sister Gail Smith .
He is preceded in death by his son and best friend, Doug Wooten.
The family will receive friends at McCammon Ammons Click Funeral Home Thursday May 30 from 5:00-7:00pm.
A graveside service will be held on Friday May 31st at Memorial Cemetery 2342 Duncan Rd Maryville at 11:00 with Rex Everett officiating.
