James William Kerr, age 83 of Maryville, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 25, 2013. He was a member of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired from ALCOA in 1992. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Ursa Kerr and several brothers and sisters. He leaves behind a loving wife, Joyce, of 60 years; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Teresa Kerr; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and David Hodges; granddaughters, Stephanie Hearon and husband Matt Hearon, Katelin Hodges and Jessica Hodges; sisters, Anna Lorene Kerr, Mary Katherine Shipwash and Delores Blair; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Scott Linginfelter officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Centenary Cemetery for the interment service with Rev. Tom McLemore officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
