James William Cobb, Sr., 89 of Maryville, TN, died June 17, 2012, at Parkwest Hospital. He was a graduate of Alcoa High School and retired from the U. S. Postal Service after more than 36 years. James served as a Technical Sgt. in the U. S. 5th Army Air Force, in the South Pacific during World War II, and was awarded w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters and other commendations. He has been married to Imogene (Everett) Cobb for 67 wonderful years and has one loving son, James William Cobb, Jr. He was a member of Monte Vista Baptist Church since June 15, 1966 and loved his Sunday School Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph R. and Emma (Clark) Cobb; his sister, Elsie Graves, and brothers, Ollis, Charles, and Frank Cobb. He is survived by his wife, Imogene (Everett) Cobb; son, Jimmy Cobb and his wife Catherine (Caylor) Cobb; sister, Martha (Cobb) and Jack Sharp; sister-in-law, Martha Pearl Cobb and many loving nieces and nephews. The family wants to give special thanks for hospice care, comfort and loving attention during his time at Parkwest Hospital. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Mantooth and Rev. Bob Dalton officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment and military graveside service with Rev. Tyson Matoy officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
