James Richard ''Rich'' Chapman

August 1, 1947 — September 7, 2010

Richard “Rich” Chapman died at home September 7, 2010 surrounded by those who loved him. He was retired from ALCOA Primary Metals financial organization September 1, 2010 after 33 year of service, in recent years serving as Financial Process Reengineering Manager and traveling extensively to ALCOA locations worldwide. He was preparing to spend his retirement years farming. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Chapman. He is survived by wife of 41 years, Linda Chapman, son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Jamie Chapman of Villa Hills, KY, daughter, Holly Chapman and fiancé Julius Garcia of Alexandria, VA, and grandsons, Garrett and Riley Chapman of Villa Hills, KY, mother, Velma Chapman of Maryville, father-in-law, Frank Rogers of Greenback, brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Aurice Chapman of Friendsville; and nieces, Robin Andrews of McEwen, TN and Ginger Teaster of Little Rock, AR. He was an active member and past Board Chair of Fairview United Methodist Church and member of the Topical Sunday School Group. The family would like to express gratitude for the many expressions of love and support during this brief and devastating illness. Services will be on Saturday, September 11 at Fairview United Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. with Dr. Jerry Russell officiating. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Saturday at the Church and will also receive following the service. A family viewing will be from 10-11:00 a.m. Saturday in Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel with the entombment service at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Fairview United Methodist Church, 2808 Old Niles Ferry Road, Maryville, TN 37803 designated to the purpose of the donor’s choice or to a favorite charity.
