James Harold Rhyne, Sr.

James Harold Rhyne Sr., age 95 of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Luther Rhyne, mother and stepfather, Dora Lee and Frank Hazlett. He was a lifelong member of Armona Baptist Church and veteran of the US Navy. He was an avid golfer in which he was the 1968 Blount County Men’s Champion, was multiple Wallace Hills Champion, and Royal Oaks Senior Champion. He played in the first 50 men’s Blount County Golf Tournaments. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. 

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Rhyne; son, Jim Rhyne and wife Brenda; daughter, Toni Stuart and husband Mike; grandchildren, Jake Rhyne and wife Sarah Kate; Sarah Clinton and husband Alan; stepsisters, Sandy and Frankie; brother-in-law, Starl and Dottie Cantrell and family.

The family will receive friends 4:30-5:30 PM Friday, February 28, 2025, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with funeral services following at 5:30 PM, Rev. Lucas Clabough officiating. The interment will be at 11:00 AM (Central Time) Saturday in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Quebeck, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Armona Baptist Church, 2211 Louisville, Road, Alcoa, TN 37701.
