James Mead Warren

Mr. James Mead Warren, of Maryville, TN, passed away at his childhood home on Thursday, August 9, 2018, at the age of 69. James was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and member of the community. He was a lifelong member of Broadway United Methodist Church, where he started his beloved early morning contemporary service and served on several councils. He graduated Maryville High School in 1967 and the University of Tennessee in 1972. He also was on the board of Citizens Bank of Blount County for 29 years. James was a retired engineer and very active in his career, even helping found the Knoxville Chapter of the Association of Energy Engineers. Jim was a private pilot with an instrument rating and traveled widely in his own Cessna 172, an avid water skier, and loved the outdoors. He had a joyful love of life and always had fun. Most of all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Evelyn Warren; daughters, Lorie (Michael) Cashman and Mary Kathryn Warren; son, James Adam (Nikki) Warren and granddaughter Ava Warren; sisters, Martha Ruble and Ellen Warren; brother, Charles Young; step-grandchildren Tawny, Mickey, and Megan Cashman; nephews and nieces, Michael James Ruble, Larry Smiley, Tim Smiley, and Leighann Underwood; Jama Sands, Gregory Sands, and several cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mead and Frances Warren. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at 6:00 PM at Broadway United Methodist Church, 309 E Broadway Ave., Maryville, TN 37804. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at the church.
