James Marley McBee, of Maryville, TN, born November 29, 1951, died September 16, 2010. The world has lost a kind, loving soul. Marley, also known to friends as Jamie, was an employee of ALCOA for more than 30 years, serving as an electrician for the past several years. He was active in Maryville Little League softball, as well as Maryville Magic softball, serving as a volunteer coach for many years and truly caring for every girl he coached. Marley was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting, fishing, and hiking. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many, and he will always live in our hearts. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alcoa. Marley was preceded in death by parents, James Lawrence McBee and Neoline Elizabeth Patty McBee. Survived by wife, Alaine Schmidt McBee; daughter, Katherine Alice (Katie) McBee and her fiance’ Ryan McDonnell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pat McBee Scruggs and Jim of Franklin, TN, Sandra McBee Bell and Scott of Friendsville; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry McBee and Debbie of Alcoa; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Janalyn and Jim Jump of Maryville, Lauris and Larry Smith of Ringgold, GA; nieces, Elizabeth Scruggs Erwin and husband Jacob of Memphis, Jennifer Scruggs McMurray and husband Derrick of Maryville, Rebecca Bell of Friendsville, Amanda Haynes of Alcoa, Donna Brady of Troy, MI, Karen Sears and husband Brady of Charlotte, NC; nephews, Jonathon Travis Bell and wife Amber of Louisville, Adam Haynes of Alcoa, Chad Trimby of Ringgold, GA, Daniel Trimby of Soddy-Daisy; great-nieces, Mattie Elizabeth Erwin of Memphis, Bailey Trimby of Ringgold, GA, April Brady, Amber Brady, and Alexa Brady all of Troy, MI, Jennifer Sears of Charlotte, NC; great-nephew, Daniel Reed Bell of Louisville. The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Sunday at Alcoa First United Methodist Church followed by a 4:30 p.m. memorial service with Rev. Joe Green officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dogwood Arts Festival or First United Methodist Church Alcoa.
