Survived by his beloved wife, Kay Hoffmeyer Waters, daughter, Amy Waters LaForce, son, George Houston Waters, grandson, James Houston Waters, and granddaughters: Catherine Callaway LaForce, Lisa Jerge Waters, and Julie Thomson LaForce. Survived also by: Son-in-law, Henry P. LaForce, Daughter-in-law, Susan Jerge Waters, and Cousins: Dr. Joe Luna, Dr. Joseph Luna, John Luna, Dr. James Luna, James Walker, Mary Nell Luna Burton, Jonnie Waters White, George K. Waters, Betty Waters Johnson, P. Onva Hatfield. Remembered also are the following dear family members who are deceased: grandfather, George Houston Waters; grandmother, Lucy Jane Waters; father, James Houston Waters, Sr.; mother, Catherine Emert Waters; son, James Houston Waters, III; and Cousins: Jack Neil, Sr., James Neil, Jane Waters Blair Honorary pall-bearers are dear friends: Dr. Lloyd Davis, Dr. Morris Dalton, Dr. Larry Dorsey, Dr. John Whittington, Dr. Richard Gillespie, Dr. Gerald Sundahl, and Dr. Aubra Branson. Dr. Waters was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church, Maryville, Tennessee; graduate of U.T. College of Medicine, Memphis; member of: American Academy of Family Practice; Tennessee Academy of Family Practice; Knoxville Academy of Medicine; Christian Medical & Dental Society; Chief of Staff, Park West Hospital, Knoxville, TN; Vice-Chief of Staff, East TN Children’s Hospital; President, East TN Heart Association; Partner at West Haven Medical Clinic, Knoxville, TN. Dr. James H. Waters, Jr. was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a gifted physician, talented builder, and marvelous story-teller. He cared for the sick, encouraged everyone, carried burdens for others, lived life with joy, and was deeply thankful to God for this beautiful earth and the love of his family. The burial and graveside service for family and close friends will be at Shiloh Cemetery in Sevierville, Tennessee on Nov. 7, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. A memorial worship service will be held at New Providence Presbyterian Church, Maryville, Tennessee on Nov. 7, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with visitation to follow, the Rev. Steven Musick presiding.
