James (Jim) Glenn died Sunday, June 27th age 81. He led a live of service in the Episcopal Church and his vocation; education. He was born and raised in Trenton, NJ, was married in 1949 to Audrey Marion Drechsler. He devoted his life to education as a teacher, principal and Director of Special Education in the NJ school system. After retirement he continued an interest in children, tutoring children in the Blount County Schools until age 80. He always welcomed children into his home where they could safely ''hang out'' after school. Jim was a member of the Masons and Rotary Club. He and Audrey volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the public library, and the American Red Cross. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ogden Edward Glenn, and Mae Janet Glenn; wife Audrey M. Glenn and brother Ogden Edward Glenn. He is survived by his son, James Edward Glenn of Swathmore; PA; son, Robert Edward Glenn of Maryville, TN; Robert's wife Ann Merrill Glenn; their son, William Edward Glenn; and his beloved dog, Pip. A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Steve Mosher officiating. The family will receive friends at the Church following the service.
