James Edward "Eddie" Potter

James “Eddie” Potter, age 68, of Maryville, TN passed away on October 9,2023. Eddie was born on October 15, 1954, and graduated from Porter High School in 1972.

He was a well-known artist for his love for music, art, paint and bodywork. He was a songwriter as well. He loved Christ the Lord and Savior.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Ruth Potter; sister, Charlotte.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Potter; son, Jason Potter of Knoxville, TN; special family pet, Missy Potter; sisters, Janice Valentine (Don), Kay West (Ted), and Freida Grothjahn (Harry); brothers, Charles Potter (Philana) and Mike Potter; brother-in-laws, James Gooden (Pam), Johnny Gooden (Judy) ; sister-in-law, Janice Estep (Fred); several nieces and nephews; close friends, Kenny Evans, Eddie Ellis, and Steve Byrd.

The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 PM, Sunday, October 15, 2023, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home and the service will follow at 2:00 with Rev. Steve Monroe and Rev. Demsey Walker officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Oakview Cemetery.
