James Edmund Newman, LtCol Ret., USAF, age 91 of Louisville, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and served his country during World War II, Korean War and the Vietnam Era, having served with the U. S. Army Air Corp and the U. S. Air Force, retiring in 1971. He was the City Finance Director for Knoxville under Mayor Rogers and also was the City Finance Director in Nashville. He returned to Law School where he received his law degree and was in private practice before being appointed a Judge in Davidson County. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Marian Caldwell Newman; daughters, Deborah Webb and husband Michael, Marsheine McClurg and husband Sam; son, James Edmund Newman, Jr. Lebo and wife Merrill; grandchildren, Caleb Brownlow Newman and wife Lisa, Fairlight Beard and husband Kevin; great grandchildren, Alexis and Colson James Newman, Brayden and Bridget Beard, Lindy Parrott and husband James, Krista Parrott and husband Jon; great great grandchildren, Colton and Lilly Parrott and Nila Parrott; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with Rev. David Anderson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the East TN Veterans Cemetery, Governor John Sevier Hwy., for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
