James Donald Walker, age 93, died March 16, 2015, at his home in Alcoa. Serving in the U. S. Army Air Corps 1942-1946, he graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1948 and worked 39 years for Alcoa, Inc., He retired 1983 as Employment Supervisor and member of the 25 Year Club. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Peggy Stewart Walker; son, James S. Walker; parents, Brickey P. Walker and Olga Byerley Walker; sisters, Kate Barton Claycomb and Marion Culveyhouse, and brother, Charles Edwin Walker. He is survived by daughters, Julia Walker of Geneseo, NY and Shirley Walker of Durham, NC and two grandsons, Will Conlin of Baton Rouge, LA and August Conlin of Asheville, NC. Mr. Walker and his family were especially grateful to friend, neighbor, and caregiver Greg Gillentine who made it possible for him to live at home until the end of his days, as he wished.
