Jacob George ''Shag'' Hudson

September 21, 1917 — September 29, 2010

Jacob George “Shag” Hudson, age 93 of Greenback, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010, at Colonial Hills Nursing Home. He was a member of Greenback First Presbyterian Church for 62 years, where he served as an Elder and Deacon. He was a 60 year member of Greenback Masonic Lodge, member of Loudon County Commission from 1954-1982, where he married over 3,000 couples, was on the FSA State Committee from 1987-1992, Director in Regions Bank, Director of TASS and was a cattle broker in the Greenback area for 65 years. Mr. Hudson was preceded in death by his parents, David Thomas and Lula Beals Hudson; infant brother, Everett Gordon Hudson. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Willie Dixon Hudson of Greenback; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Judy Hudson; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Johnny Powell all of Maryville; grandchildren, Scott Powell and wife Tammy, Eric Powell, Kelly Tiller and husband Todd all of Maryville, Leigh Black and husband David of Louisville, Kent Hudson of Maryville; great grandchildren, Jacob Powell, Ella and Betsy Tiller, Elijah Black, Reagan Hudson; brother, Howard Hudson of Maryville. The family will receive friends from 1-3:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home and then proceed to Sherwood Memorial Gardens for a 4:00 p.m. graveside service with Rev. David Bell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Greenback First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 170, Greenback, TN 37742.
