Jackie Martin Beckwith

Jackie Martin Beckwith died peacefully in Knoxville, TN on July 15, 2022 at the age of 80. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Howard Beckwith; her father who died in World War II, Jack Harold Martin; mother Rena Jones Elkins; and Luther Burl Elkins who lovingly raised her; her sister Fern Stooksbury; brother Kern Elkins; and cousin Gertie Mae Porter.

She is survived by her loving children Angela Bryson [Keith] of Knoxville, Ruth Trotter [Michael] of Clarksville, Howard Beckwith, II [Doreen] of Mount Clare, WV; grandchildren, Jackson and Annaleigh Trotter, Elaina and Howard Beckwith, III; brother Richard Elkins of Tampa FL; brother David Elkins [Becky] of Athens, AL; sister Kaye Robinson [Sonny] Lenoir City; sister Faye Anderson [Billy] Knoxville; and sister Judy Allen [Art] Lenoir City; brother-in-law Gerald Stooksbury; sister-in-law Charlotte Elkins; and cousin Bob Porter.

Mom, Jack Rabbit, Mimi graduated Halls High School class of 1960. She attended ETSU where she met the love of her life. In college she studied Education, was a member of PHI MU sorority studying to be a school teacher. Jackie raised three children and dedicated her life to helping them succeed in achieving their goals. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed supporting them in all their school activities, sports, and creative arts. With a very open and caring heart she was always the one to be counted on. She valued her time with church circle events, bridge group, garden club, and ballet auxiliary. Jackie and her family have been members of New Providence Presbyterian Church since 1978.

A receiving of friends is scheduled for Thursday, July 21st from 5-7 p.m. at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville (865) 982-6812, www.mccammonammonsclick.com. The funeral service will follow with Rev. Dr. Emily J. Anderson officiating. Jackie’s entombment is scheduled for Friday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at Grandview Cemetery (865) 982-3730, www.grandviewcemetery.com.
