Jack Allison Harmon

HARMON, Jack Allison, age 73 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was born June 19, 1932, and was a faithful member of Praise Temple Assembly of God in Alcoa for many years. He served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955, during the Korean War, stationed in Germany. Jack owned East Tennessee Burglar and Fire Alarm Device Company in Maryville from 1968-1989. He served as President, Secretary/Treasurer and was one of several founding members of the Tennessee Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. He also owned and operated the Maryville Alcoa Answering Service of Maryville and the Western Union Agency until 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. and Ruby McBeth Harmon; brothers, Ivan D. Harmon, John R. Harmon, Doyle Harmon. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Dorothy C. Harmon of Maryville; sons and daughters-in-law, Rev. J. Alan and Angela Harmon of Memphis, TN, Victor Carl and Rita Michelle Harmon of Fairbanks, AK, S. Neil and Kim Harmon of Grundy, VA; grandchildren, Valerie Gilbert and spouse, Rev. Ransom Gilbert of McComb, MS, Kendra Harmon of Memphis, TN, Phillip and Alexander Harmon both of Maryville, Dominique Mealer and spouse Stacy Mealer of Maryville, Demetria Lopez of Knoxville, Tiffany Harmon of Sevierville, Isabella Harmon of Grundy, VA; great grandchild, Tristan Mealer of Maryville; sister and brother-in-law, Edith Mary and Lindell Teffeteller of Maryville; brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Linda Harmon of Guyton, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Praise Temple Assembly of God, in Alcoa, with Rev. Wayne Simmons officiating. The entombment will follow in Grandview Mausoleum.
