Ivan A. “Bud†Ragle, age 90 of Maryville, passed away Thursday, March 12, at Blount Memorial Hospital surrounded by a circle of loving family. Bud was a longtime member of Everett Hills Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years. He was a WWII veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart. After 41 years of service, Bud retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company. He enjoyed his retirement years with his family. He was a well respected family man devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, John and Alice Ragle; his wife, Lucille McGowan Ragle; brothers, Newt, and Raymond “Hick†Ragle; sister, Ella “Cap†Schubert; stepdaughter, Debra Alligood. Bud is survived by his wife, Twila McCollum Ragle; his son and daughter-in-law, Buddy and Donna Ragle of Knoxville; daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Leach of McKinney, TX; his grandchildren, Kathy Humphries and her husband, Cameron of Dallas, TX, Courtney Drury and her husband, Henry of Greenville, SC, Chad Ragle and his wife, Christy of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Madeleine Humphries and James Drury; dear family friends, Don Thompson and wife Janet. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Colonial Hills Nursing Center and the doctors and nurses of Blount Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. John Franklin and Rev. Ted Witchen officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Grandview Mausoleum for the entombment service. The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Saturday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home.
