Isaac John R. Cooper, Sr., 74 of Friendsville, TN, went home to be with the Lord, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He is preceded in death by his father, Isaac Perman and his mother, Flora Garrison Cooper. He leaves to mourn, his wife of 37 years, Peggy Justice Cooper; son, John Jr. (Barbara); daughter, Janet; sons, Steve (Nancy), Randy (Vickie), Rodney (Evelyn) Butcher; his beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Raymond, Everett (Laverne); sisters, Alva, Zelma (Don), Mary (Jim), Bobbie and Becky; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and his life-long friend and cousin Freddy Cooper. J. R. or Jay, as he was called, was a marble setter by trade. You can see his work all the way from Maine to Colorado. He loved his family and spent many years traveling for his work to provide for his wife and children. Funeral services will be at 8:00 p.m. Friday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Guy Milam and Rev. Ben Ward officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Springview Baptist Church, 4220 U. S.
